WhatsApp Has Banned 1.3 million Accounts On Jan 2025

It is being disclosed that WhatsApp has been very active recently, and they are taking harassment claims, scams, and other online crimes as a serious issue. Moreover, WhatsApp has started to ban accounts that are marked for harassment, fraud, scams, and other online crimes. Moreover, it is now a part of WhatsApp's priority to block and permanently ban these accounts for good so that they can reduce these issues and people are safe while using WhatsApp. 

Media reports claim that India has been the biggest filtration of the new WhatsApp policy, and WhatsApp management has banned nearly 10 million accounts, which were marked as scams, frauds, harassments, and other online cyber crimes. WhatsApp wants their platform not to be abused by these methods, and they want their app to secure and discourage these kinds of activities through their app.  All these accounts were blocked during January 2025.

Reports suggest that WhatsApp overall has banned 1.3 million accounts globally to comply with their new cybercrime policies. Moreover, they have made an internal system that removes or permanently bans users that have fishy behavior, bots, mass scams, and other activities that are internally flagged by WhatsApp's internal system, even if users file a report of cybercrime activities. Additionally, WhatsApp wants their app to be safe and secure. 

According to the reports, nearly 9474 complaints were filed in India about online abuse of WhatsApp. However, the ban list is way beyond that, and it is around 10 million due to the new internal system of WhatsApp. These are the ongoing campaigns and new policies of WhatsApp.

Additionally, WhatsApp has consistently warned users to avoid these kinds of activities, as WhatsApp is now grave about reducing or filtering users who are flagged for suspicious behavior. WhatsApp has consistently warned these users to avoid these kinds of activities on their platform.
