US defreezes Pakistan's US 397 million funds for F-16
Since US President Donald Trump has taken charge, he has been making unusual and surprising moves. He recently froze all the USAID and tasked Elon Musk to securitize the funds, and does it benefit the US or not? Moreover, it sparked all the debate globally, and some experts said that US President Donald Trump does not have the authority to freeze or defreeze the funds, as only Congress and the Parliament of the US have that kind of authority. The US recently froze all USAID, but this week, after brief scrutiny, it has unfrozen all the military and security aid.
Moreover, the US president said this pause or freeze would be a minimum of 90 days, meaning almost 3 months to audit the USAID and what kind of benefits the US received. However, surprisingly, the US released all the security assistance funds that were part of the USAID, and it also included Pakistan's funds for the F-16 jet to neutralize any terrorist threat; however, the condition is that it cannot be used against India.
Moreover, this is a major development for Pakistan-US relations, as experts say that the US still prioritizes Pakistan because of the regional stability and counterterrorism efforts of Pakistan. Moreover, India has started a typical blame game, as they say that this is only lip service from the US, and they know that this will be used against India. However, Pakistan has never breached its commitment and promise, which even the US said when they released these funds.
