UAE to Halt Visa for Unskilled Workers

The UAE is the financial hub of Asia, and we can agree that the UAE is also among the top 10 financial hubs globally. Earlier, the UAE was focusing on unskilled and skilled labor both to attract investment and to create job opportunities; however, things are changing, and now the UAE is focusing on getting more skilled workers and discouraging unskilled workers from applying for visas and rejecting their visas.

Furthermore, it was further explained by Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, that now the UAE wants IT businesses and professionals, doctors, professional bankers, AI experts, businesspeople, engineers, physicians, etc., to apply for visas. Moreover, now the UAE is rejecting the visas for unskilled workers. Pakistan's ambassador says that it will take time for people to understand the process, and Pakistani people have enormous talent. Therefore, they can take advantage of this opportunity, and they should apply if they are seeking to work in the UAE and if they fall under the category of skilled workers.

Moreover, the ambassador stressed that it is a good chance for Pakistan that they can shift from the low wages category and can work hard to get high wages just by applying as skilled workers. He said there is an untapped potential in Pakistan that can apply for the skilled worker category because the UAE is now encouraging foreigners to apply for skilled worker visas, and the pay is high as well.

He said this would allow Pakistan's remittance to increase further. He said Pakistanis from the UAE contribute significant remittances, which amounted to US$4.5 billion, which is a 53% increase compared to last fiscal year. He further said that Pakistani people work hard in the UAE, and they contribute to the economy of the UAE. Moreover, he said that the UAE is focused on white jobs as well, so it is the right time for people from Pakistan to apply and get a skilled job in the UAE.
