The government recommended hiking fuel prices by Ogra today.
It is reported that Ogra will recommend the PM and the Ministry of Finance to raise petroleum prices again. The prices of petroleum have risen recently as well.
The prices of petrol are rising due to global price increases. Crude oil and PKR currency is losing its value against the dollar. Moreover, Pakistan has made a commitment and agreement with the IMF that they will charge a petroleum levy of PKR 60 per liter on all petroleum products, and Pakistan cannot afford to sidetrack the IMF agreement at this moment.
According to Express Tribune reports, diesel prices are expected to increase around 4 PKR, light diesel is expected to increase around 5.93 PKR, kerosene oil is expected to increase to 5 PKR and petrol could be increased to 1.24 PKR.
Official prices will be updated before 11 pm tonight.
