Saim Ayub needs six weeks'time to recover from an ankle-twisted injury.
During the second test match between Pakistan and South Africa, on the first day, in the seventh over, Saim Ayub lost his balance as he was placed at deep third man to field, and he got injured. At first, it seemed like he would be OK and would be standing back; however, things got worse when a stretcher was called to carry Saim Ayub.
He was rushed to the hospital for a scan of his injury as Pakistan could not afford to lose its another player due to injury. PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has a history of not handling its player injuries well, and then players need to spend their own money to recover or need to go overseas for the recovery by spending their own money.
However, when the scan was completed, PCB updated Saim Ayub's ankle-twisted injury scan and they have sent the scan to UK specialists for further consultation, and they will update the matter later. However, he is out of the second test match against South Africa.
The latest update by PCB is that Saim Ayub needs at least six weeks of recovery time to get healed and to play again. Therefore, this is a massive setback for the Pakistan cricket team because the Champions Trophy is right around the corner, and the PCB will need to figure out his proper replacement and not mess up Saim Ayub's injury.
