Quetta Gladiators won by 80 runs against Peshawar Zalmi

Quetta Gladiators won by 80 runs against Peshawar Zalmi today. Peshawar Zalmi won the toss, and Babar decided to bowl first. Babar Azam stated after winning the toss that this pitch is a batting pitch; therefore, it is better to let the opposition side bat first and set the target. Quetta Gladiators came with a mission and plan as both Finn Allen and Saud Shakeel set the momentum for the target of 217 runs. Both these openers played according to their plan, while Finn Allen scored 53 runs by facing 25 balls, and Saud Shakeel made 59 runs by facing 42 balls.

Hassan Nawaz scored 41 runs by facing 32 balls, but he had issues when today he was playing against spinners today. Saim Ayub and Sufiyan Muqeem completely dominated Hassan Nawaz as he had no clue how to play spin. Saim Ayub is not a regular spinner, and Hassan Nawaz having issues playing Saim Ayub is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by PCB: how did the Pakistan cricket team selectors not know that Hassan Nawaz had technical issues playing against spinners?

Moreover, Kusal Mendis, with his cameo of 35 runs from facing 14 balls, helped Quetta Gladiators to set the target of 217 for Peshawar Zalmi to chase. In reply, Babar Azam was out for a duck, which is not new or any surprise, as it was expected that Babar Azam and his team would not be able to chase this target. The Pakistan national side has issues whenever the opposition side scores beyond 200 runs in T20 matches; therefore, it was expected that Babar Azam would be under pressure, and he would not be able to play like he usually does. Saim Ayub made a half-century by facing 38 balls, and Hasan Talat was the only star for Peshawar Zalmi today, as he made 35 runs by facing 19 balls.

Muhammad Amir's early wickets for Quetta Gladiators set the tone as he took two wickets in just 2 overs, while spinners Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq took six wickets together. The match was played at Rawalpindi Stadium.
