 Pizza Hut Introduction

Pizza Hut is a US brand, and most branded fast-food chains are from the USA. It was founded in 1958 by two brothers, Dan and Frank. According to the report, by 2023, the total number of Pizza Hut branches worldwide will be 19,866. In the 1990s, Pizza Hut was at its peak, just like McDonald's in value worldwide, and it was considered the best pizza brand (due to less competition in the market), and it launched in Pakistan at 1993, and its Pizza Hut success was considered the best Asian revenue-making food chain alone due to the Pakistan and India craze of eating pizza.

However, since more competition came, things went sidetracked for Pizza Hut as Papa John's and Dominos took over sales from Pizza starting in 2017. 

Pizza Hut Closing its Branches Worldwide.

Pizza Hut, since 2020, has started to close down its branches worldwide due to a lack of sales and revenue losses. It was reported that Pizza Hut had closed down more than 300 branches, and they had a debt of US 1 billion dollars. In Pakistan, it is the same story for Pizza Hut; its quality has dropped, sales were down, management issues, and supply chain issues were among the top issues for Pizza Hut in Pakistan.

Many analysts say that Pizza Hut did not change its business model, which is the main reason why Pizza Hut is making revenue losses while its competition is making revenues. It has to change its business model. For example, when there was Covid (2020), Domino's delivery service was rated 5 stars; however, Pizza Hut did not invest in the delivery service, and they had many issues with their delivery model, and many people stopped ordering from Pizza Hut.

Pizza Hut's comeback in Pakistan

In 2022, it was reported that Pizza was shutting down its operations at many levels, and it belonged to MCR Pvt Ltd in Pakistan. It was reported in 2022 that the MCR company wanted to get rid of Pizza Hut due to international management changes of Pizza Hut, and then it was sold to Mark International in 2022. The management plan is to increase from 84 branches up to 200 within the 2027 timeframe. 

Mark International did a agreement with Lake City to open five new branches and add five new menus to attract its brand. They are also making modern changes.  Moreover, Mark International said that this is just the start, and we want Pizza Hut to be the best food chain brand in Pakistan.
