Pakistan Suzuki Motors Suspends Wagon R Bookings

Pakistan Suzuki Motors has made a surprising move, and it has halted and stopped the booking of the Suzuki Wagon R permanently, which took effect on March 11. This was a speculative move because Pakistan's Suzuki Motors had suspended bookings four months ago. 

However, now with official communication to dealers and investors, Pakistan Suzuki Motors confirmed via an official letter that they have suspended the Suzuki Wagon R bookings permanently. Moreover, they have also instructed the sales team to inform the potential customers of the Suzuki Wagon R accordingly. 

Pakistan Suzuki Motors introduced the first Suzuki Wagon R in 2014. It was released in three variants, which were VX, priced at 899,999; VXR, priced at 1,049,000; and VXL, priced at 1,089,000. In the meantime, prices increased due to inflation. The price of these cars increased as well, and the last time they sold at a price of a maximum of around 3,741,000, which was the major reason the sale of Wagon R sales declined. 

It was reported by Pakistan Suzuki Motors that they only sold 1608 units of the Wagon R between July 2024 and February 2025, which was a major reason Pakistan Suzuki Motors decided to stop the production of the Wagon R and halt the booking on a permanent basis. 

It is reported that Pakistan's Suzuki Motors might be planning to replace them with Xbee models, which are priced at 4,440,000 to 4,642,000.

Additionally, this is a tough time for many car companies operating in Pakistan, and their sales have been in decline form. However, for the months of January and February, car sales have witnessed a kick start, and the sales have increased on a monthly basis. Moreover, the reason might be due to interest rates getting lower and growth rates improving.
