Foreign Couple got mugged in Sindh
It is not surprising news that a foreign couple was mugged in Sindh, Thatta district. Even locals are robbed on a daily basis in Sindh; if you resist, you might face a bullet, as there is no value of life. It is better to hand over whatever they are asking; it is not worth risking your life for it.
Foreigners usually do not travel to Sindh District except Karachi, and mostly foreigners usually visit Karachi, Punjab, and Islamabad. This is the major reason why people, even locals in Karachi, avoid traveling to the Sindh area due to robbery and security concerns.
FIR has been launched by the couple.
The couple registered an FIR stating that they were robbed near the Sajawal bypass, Thatta district, on Sunday. They are foreigners who came from Kowalczyk Jakub Tomasz, who is a Polish national, and Scantamburlo Marie Elisabeth, who is a French citizen. Both said that they passed through 10 different countries and only got robbed in Sindh, Pakistan. Their mobile phones were taken by the robbers.
Media reached out to the couple; they revealed that they said they were staying in Makli Graveyard the day before the robbery. This is where the muggers robbed the couples. After the incident, the couple left for Hyderabad. Sindh Official took notice of this incident and summoned the report from Sujawal SSP. Moreover, Sindh's home minister directed them to take strict action, recover the belongings of the couple, and punish the culprit according to law.
The official directed that there should be no delay and the cases should be concluded as soon as possible using modern technology and directed to arrest the culprit as soon as possible. The couples also made a video about the robbery and relived the facts about the robbery and posted it on social media.
Lawless Situation in Sindh
It is a fact that Sindh is facing massive robbery and insecurity of its own citizens, let alone foreign visitors. According to media reports, earlier in October, they got robbed of nearly USD 1080 worth PKR 300.94 in DHA, Karachi, and an FIR was registered in DHA.
It is a disappointment that the situation in Sindh is insecure and the police are not active to resolve this issue like in another region of Pakistan. It is very common for citizens to get robbed in Sindh, like mobile snatching, house robbery, target killing, and extortions. Sadly, citizens have also gotten used to Sindh Police incompetence.
The Sindh police department requires serious reforms and accountability because security concerns in Sindh impact business as well, and citizens do not have one bit of police in Sindh, and they are forced to arrange their own security, which they can and whoever can afford it.
